Most new runners quit because week one felt like a race. The plan that sticks is slower than your pride, shorter than your calendar, and repeated often enough that shoes by the door start to feel normal.

Four weeks, three days, no heroics

Walk for two minutes, jog for one, and repeat for ten to fifteen minutes. Add a minute of jogging each week, not each session. If you can speak a full sentence, the pace is right.

Keep the other four days for walking, mobility, or nothing. Recovery is the work that lets next week's minutes feel possible.

Shoes, routes, and rain plans

A pair that does not rub and a loop you can run half-asleep beat a perfect watch. Pick a route with a sidewalk, a lamp, and a café as a finish line.

When the weather turns, shorten the session rather than skip it. Eight wet minutes still count. The streak you are building is showing up, not splitting times.
