A swing is a rotation test wearing sport clothes. If the hips and mid-back do not share the turn, the lower back writes the cheque — and it always comes due on Monday.

Five minutes before you pick up a club

Open the hips with a 90/90 sit, then thread the needle for the mid-back, and finish with a standing windmill that keeps the eyes on the lead hand. Two slow breaths in each position beat twenty rushed reps.

Do the circuit on the days you sit longest, not only on range days. The stiffness is built at a desk; the fix has to live there too.

“You cannot coach speed into a joint that will not turn.”

Jonah Reyes

The rest of us can treat rotation like a skill: a little, often, and never as punishment after a bad round.
