Building a protein-first plate without the fuss

Protein targets fail when they require a spreadsheet at breakfast. The athletes who hit theirs treat the plate like a habit: a palm of protein, a fist of colour, and a smart carb when the session was hard.

Three plates that travel

Breakfast: eggs or skyr, fruit, and toast. Lunch: a tin of fish or leftover chicken, a heap of salad, and rice if you trained. Dinner: tofu, beans, or a steak, roasted vegetables, and the carb you skipped at lunch.

Use the same grocery list for two weeks. Novelty is why meal plans die on day nine.

What about the scoop?

Powder is a backup for the commute, not the centrepiece. Whole food brings iron, fibre, and the feeling that you ate a meal.

If appetite is low after hard sessions, a smoothie with yoghurt, banana, and oats is still food. Drink it sitting down. That small ritual keeps the target from becoming another chore.
