One bell and a patch of floor will train more of you than a room of machines if the hinges stay honest. These five moves are the whole language. Learn them slowly and the rest of the catalogue becomes optional.

The five

Swing for the hinge, goblet squat for the legs, clean to bring the bell to the rack, press to own it overhead, and a suitcase carry to lock the ribs. Film the first two from the side until the back stays long.

Start with a weight you can park gently. Crashing bells are not power — they are a missed deceleration.

“The swing is a deadlift that learned to fly. Treat it that way.”

Three rounds: ten swings, eight goblet squats, six cleans each side, five presses each side, and a thirty-second carry. Rest as long as you need to keep the shape.

When the clean feels ugly, drop the press and practise the rack hold. Strong shoulders are built in the pause, not the highlight.
